REFINING TECHNOLOGY, ADVANCING RESEARCH

In order to foster bonds between the members of the association, and raise levels of scholarship within the field of road transportation nationally, China Road Federation began to publish Road News Quarterly in June of 1962. Focused on road engineering, as well as on oversight and general transportation issues, it publishes a variety of content, including columns, academic research reports, translations, reports about actual situations on the ground, explanations of laws and legislation, and abstracts of works by authors from Taiwan and abroad. The Quarterly is provided to members free of charge.

Meanwhile, China Road Federation encourages members to continually advance their knowledge and engage in research and development in areas such as road engineering, transportation infrastructure, transportation operations and management, and machinery and vehicle manufacturing. CRF specially created the annual "Road Medal" and "Road Commendation" awards to recognize members who have made outstanding achievements or special contributions to the industry.

Furthermore, in order to encourage domestic research and elevate domestic engineering capabilities in areas such as road transportation, machinery and management, China Road Federation also gives a yearly award for an outstanding academic paper demonstrating substantive research that offers new findings and practical value in areas such as transportation theory, roadway construction, transportation operations and management, and machinery and vehicle manufacturing.

China Road Federation also gives special recognition to those who have made outstanding long-term contributions to the nation's roadway infrastructure and development of transportation. For instance, on October 21, 2015, it bestowed a “lifetime achievement award” on Mr. Chang Tung, who is known as the“ Taiwan Road Luminary,” for his achievements over the course of six decades that helped to lay a solid foundation for a national roadway administration system.
